在中国悠久的历史长河中，有许多流传千古的故事，其中“管鲍之交”便是其中之一。这个故事讲述了春秋时期齐国两位贤人管仲与鲍叔牙之间的深厚友谊，成为后世称颂的典范。

原文：

昔者齐桓公问于鲍叔曰：“吾欲使管仲为相，可乎？”鲍叔对曰：“管仲之才，非臣所能及也。然臣以为，君若能用其才，则齐国必强。”桓公曰：“善。”于是任管仲为相。

管仲相齐，政事井然有序，齐国大治。鲍叔牙虽居管仲之下，却毫无嫉妒之心。每有大事，必与管仲商议，共谋良策。管仲亦感鲍叔之德，常言：“生我者父母，知我者鲍子也。”

鲍叔牙尝言于人曰：“吾不如管仲之能谋也，吾不如管仲之能断也。然吾之所以得全其志者，皆赖管仲之力也。”故天下之人皆称：“管鲍之交，千古传颂。”

翻译：

Once upon a time, Duke Huan of Qi asked Bao Shu, “I wish to appoint Guan Zhong as my prime minister, do you think it is feasible?” Bao Shu replied, “Guan Zhong’s talents surpass mine. However, I believe that if Your Highness can make full use of his abilities, then the state of Qi will surely grow stronger.” Duke Huan said, “Good.” Thus, Guan Zhong was appointed as prime minister.

When Guan Zhong became the prime minister of Qi, the country flourished under his administration. Although Bao Shu held a lower position than Guan Zhong, he harbored no jealousy. Whenever there were important matters, he would consult with Guan Zhong and jointly devise strategies. Guan Zhong also deeply appreciated Bao Shu’s virtues, often saying, “Those who gave me life were my parents, but those who truly understood me were none other than Baozi.”

Bao Shu once told others, “I am not as capable as Guan Zhong in terms of strategy nor as decisive as him. Yet, all I have achieved stems from Guan Zhong’s support.” Therefore, people around the world praised, “The friendship between Guan and Bao is celebrated through the ages.”
